Yet Another Double Standard

According to Fox News, the LA Times is withholding a tape of Obama toasting a former spokesman for the Palestine Liberating Group, back when this was a designated terrorist groupl. How is this happening? Why is this tape not being released. Just as there are currently no charges going against those that put up the Palin figure in a noose, there is no outcry to show this tape. I think we all know that the world would be lit on fire if something like this was being done with McCain involved. I think it's flat out uncalled for that a tape like this is being withheld. Especially this close to the election. The american need to know the type of person they're voting for. Do you really want to vote for a leader who is toasting a former terrorist organization spokesperson?

The "former spokesman" Rashid Khalidi was a colleague of Obama's at the University of Chicago. It was a going away dinner for Khalidi, because he was going to teach at Columbia. Khalidi has denied being a spokesman for the PLO during a period in the 70's and 80's. I'm not defending Obama or Khalidi, but I think this information is relevant so readers get a fuller picture rather than a bare minimum.

Does it really matter what context it's on? I don't particularly care if it's Obama's former childhood best friend. The fact is that this man has repeatedly close ties to "former" terrorists.

I think all the facts need to be laid out on the table before any judgements are to be made. McCain has also had ties with people that many prefer him not to. We need to look at everything before we do anything judgemental.

I am pretty sure everyone hangs out with someone that others "prefer them not to". But, I just can't see that as a rational argument. What is the biggest outside threat to this country? Terrorists. And Obama has close ties/friendships to a few "former" terrorists...that we know about. You wanna talk about facts laid out? Then how can you not agree with what I am saying. If you really truly want the facts, then you should want the country to see the video of Obama toasting this former terrorist spokesperson.

I'm not saying the video shouldn't be released. I just think it's important to know as much information as possible rather than just the information that suits one side or the other. I wouldn't mind seeing the video, but it probably won't be so instead of people only knowing Obama toasted a suspected spokesperson for PLO, people know more about the situation.
